WHAT WE LOVE...

This is a characterful place to stay right on the harbourside in St Aubins. Formerly the ancient court house, parts of the building date back to 1450, including a granite spiral staircase in the centre of the building. The pub downstairs is often packed with locals enjoying a pint in the low-ceiling bar or a seafood platter and a glass of sauvignon blanc on the terrace, which overlooks the yachts in the harbour. Rooms are boutique in style, if sometimes a little small, with plaid bedspreads and vintage telephones and radios, some even have roll-top baths in the room, and one has a terrace with a spa bath. The brasserie-style restaurant specialises in fish and seafood, although also does good steaks and burgers.
