Hotel Review
The Tens at Owen House Farm, Mobberley, Cheshire
The Tens at Owen House Farm isn't your typical country hotel. Instead of staying in grand surroundings in an historic hall, you get rustic-chic rooms in a converted stock shed; rather than opening the curtains to views of a formal garden, you come face to face with cattle chomping down on hay bales in the neighbouring barn. And that's exactly what draws people here - the charm of staying somewhere a bit different in the north-east Cheshire countryside. Although the setting, on a working, family-run farm, is decidedly rural, the rooms have luxurious 21st-century design flourishes and high-spec bathrooms, and this part of the country is no stranger to ritzy restaurants, bars and shops, with the upmarket towns of Knutsford and Wilmslow just a short drive away.
