WHAT WE LOVE...

Resembling a regal ocean liner rising into the forested cliffs above a vivid blue bay, Rixos Premium Dubrovnik offers top-flight luxury that's only a 20-minute walk from Dubrovnik Old Town. This sleek, sprawling five-star resort dates from 1971 but its 310 rooms were given a major makeover in 2020. Built around a central light-filled atrium whose bars are adorned with original art, it's stylish and sophisticated but has a relaxed air. The facilities are superb: an enormous waterfront deck has two pools, water sports and a rocky beachfront which go alongside an excellent spa, indoor pool, several boutiques and Dubrovnik's only casino. Dining is just as impressive, with options including a sushi bar and a fish restaurant, and summertime brings live DJ sets and jazz concerts.

Style & Character

Guests run the gamut from discerning families loving the huge range of facilities to holidaying couples and business travellers. Tucked away discreetly behind glass screens in the atrium are two pool tables, adding a playful vibe. The patisserie serves wonderful cakes.

Service & Facilities

We loved dozing contentedly in the Anjana Spa's relaxation lounge after a session in the hammam, sauna and hot tub.

Rooms

The Corner Suite had an extraordinarily large terrace big enough for a party. Like the other suites it comes with a whirlpool bath. Nothing beats lying on a sunlounger on the terrace, watching the sun go down over the Adriatic.

Classic, Standard, Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suite, Corner Suite, Executive Suite, Spa Suite, Presidential Suite
Facilities include: ensuite bathroom with toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee facilities, bottled water, pillow menu, air conditioning, TV, free Wi-Fi

Food & Drink

Turquoise has a mouth-watering "dry aged" meat corner, featuring dry-aged ribeye, beef tenderloin, T-bone and veal chops. We loved the freshly grilled, filleted John Dory at Libertas Fish Restaurant, preceded by gorgeous little plates of seafood starters.

Turquoise: buffet restaurant, international cuisine. Open for breakfast and dinner.
Umi Teppanyaki: show cooking restaurant, Asian cuisine. Open for dinner.
Libertas Fish Restaurant: terrace restaurant, Mediterranean cuisine. Open for dinner.
