WHAT WE LOVE...

Situated in a prime position in the Meadfoot area of Torquay on the English Riviera, Lincombe Hall Hotel boasts spectacular sea views and a design-led spa. Classically British, this lovingly transformed seaside retreat has elegant, contemporary interiors with a little old school grandeur. Well-manicured, palm-fringed gardens give way to glistening ocean views. Built in 1841 as the summer home of writer and philosopher Dr Alexander Sutherland, the hotel has been restored to its former glory, providing an exceptional staycation spot in one of the UK's best-loved seaside destinations. Enjoy modern design fused with heritage features and some of the finest locally sourced produce in the smart restaurant. Close to the South West Coast Path, and many local attractions, this adults-only hotel is a great base for exploring south Devon.

As an adult-only hotel, Lincombe Hall is perfect for a relaxing couples retreat, as well as a superb spot for all things coastal. We love the fusion of original features and architecture, including stained glass windows, revolving doors and art deco-inspired design.

Relaxing in the balmy hydra pool was a heavenly treat, before heading to the bar for a 'Mr Dabbs' signature cocktail.

Food & drink

Happily, the fishing port of Brixham is on the doorstep, so expect plenty of fresh fish and seafood, as well as West Country cheeses and locally reared meat. We're blown away by the fillet of Torbay Plaice, served with asparagus spears, crispy new potatoes and mint dressing - followed by deep-fried coconut rice pudding Arancini.
