WHAT WE LOVE...

Bringing a welcome splash of colour to a part of Paris traditionally associated with railways - it's located almost equidistant to the Gare du Nord, where the Eurostar arrives, and the Gare de l'Est (the name is taken from the street it's situated on) - this is the fourth Parisian property from French hotelier Adrien Gloaguen, and the first to enlist the services of joyfully maximalist British interior designer Luke Edward Hall. From the bright green walls, electric blue velvet sofas and leopard print tub chairs of the lobby and lounge area, to the more muted, matte dusky pinks, forest greens and sunshine yellows of the 38 bedrooms, this hotel's design aesthetic is at its heart, though not to the detriment of comfort. It features a small gym and sauna in the basement, a simple cafe-style counter area for breakfast, and a sister, all-day cafe across the road which provides traditional French cuisine with a modern twist.
