Hotel Review
The Kilcot Inn, Newent, Gloucestershire
The Kilcot Inn is a popular country pub with four modern, comfortable, en-suite rooms on the Gloucestershire/Herefordshire border, just outside Newent. Inside there's a cosy, warm bar area on one side and a large restaurant on the other; there are also picnic benches outside at the front and a big garden at the back with more picnic benches and a children's play area. The food is great, with a blackboard of daily specials as well as a favourites menu that includes hearty main dishes and yummy puds. The bar serves local beers and ciders, and the wine list includes vegan, organic and natural wines.

Style & Character
It's great for couples, families and groups of friends - but book well in advance as there are only four rooms. It's popular among cyclists who flock to the area, too. The friendliness is wonderful - the inn is full of local characters who sit at the bar and love to chat.
Service & Facilities
The inn has thoughtfully provided a covered cycle shed so guests can store their bikes safely and in the dry.

Rooms
We love the Malvern Suite, with a king-size bed, sofa and a large bathroom with bath and shower. It's at the back of the property so less road traffic noise. It's a simple pub B&B but you're still offered bathrobes, which is a nice touch.

Food & Drink
We love the range of special nights - Fish Friday, Tuesday Steak Night - and daily specials. Our favourite dish is the Mammoth Mixed Grill, with a sirloin steak, venison, gammon, Welsh Dragon sausage and two fried eggs - nom!
The Kilcot Inn: hearty British dishes, local produce, weekly seasonal menus, daily specials, kitchen garden. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner (except Sunday nights).
