Hotel Review
Hotel San Telmo, Santa Cruz de La Palma, La Palma
One of the founding fathers of Santa Cruz de La Palma properties has become the leading boutique hotel in the island capital. It enjoys a central location and this two-star's current entrance is its historic back door which came in handy when pirates attacked via the front door. A 17th-century exterior roots the building in Canarian history. Mellow in yellow, there is subtlety in Hotel San Telmo's draw. Its cobbled-stone setting offers a gateway to the bijou beauty of the lean streets of the La Palma capital. There's a delight in going through the keyhole of the former home of one of the island's most famous sons, Manuel González Mendez (1843-1909). He was an art professor, musician, painter, and sculptor.
