Hotel Review
Glen-yr-Afon House Hotel, Usk, Monmouthshire
An impressive, well-run, privately-owned hotel on the edge of the upmarket town of Usk, around 11 miles from Abergavenny. Set in a handsome Victorian villa in three acres of grounds, with lawns and cherry trees, it is renowned as a wedding, christening, celebration and conference venue. There's an excellent restaurant, Clarke's, a cosy bar, and a spacious ballroom that can be used for private functions, with entertainment such as themed dinners and singers sometimes offered. Splendid afternoon teas are served in the lounge. Activities nearby on a short break include golf, walking and fishing.
