Hotel Review
Parade School Guest House, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland
In a quiet part of the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, and close to the famous Elizabethan walls, this handsome Georgian house feels tucked away from the town's bustle yet is within easy walking distance of restaurants and attractions. Interiors belie its classic Georgian looks with a startlingly bright and contemporary style of bold colours, shiny whites, statement mirrors and decorative objects. Owner Ann Macnab is extremely down-to-earth and welcoming with plenty of advice on what to see and where to eat. The bedrooms vary from large to compact but well-designed, and all have high-quality fittings and thoughtful extras. Throughout the day, help-yourself hot drinks and snacks are available.
