WHAT WE LOVE...

This stylish hotel offers lots of advantages for the New York visitor: a great location in the heart of theatreland that's also close to key sights like Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and the upscale boutiques of 5th Avenue. Theatre-inspired touches abound, such as photos, models of sets and lights each displaying a line drawing of one of the 41 Broadway theatres. It has a lovely restaurant, cocktail bar and rooftop bar, where the cuisine, cocktails, live music and DJ sets are all superb. Although the guest rooms are on the small side - common in this crowded city - they are smart and comfortable. Guests can use a nearby top health club for free.

Style & Character

Both business and leisure travellers will enjoy it here - theatre-lovers especially - though it's not really geared to families. The design of the restaurant is great, and the cocktail bar even better, with its display of theatre set designs a nice touch.

Service & Facilities

Dinner in the restaurant, a beer in the second floor bar and a cocktail in the rooftop bar are all equally delightful.

Some rooms allow pets, and a $50 fee is charged for the stay. A bed, bowl, toy and treats are provided.

Rooms

With a queen-size comfy bed overlooking the street below, a deep blue banquette, clothes hanging area and big golden-edged mirror, the Cozy room felt spacious enough. With the wall painted half dark blue and half white, and a white and brass shower room with snazzy contemporary tiling, the décor is slick. There are theatrical touches, such as a huge golden velvet drape over the four-poster structure of the bed.

Cozy, Spacious
Facilities include: ensuite bathroom with toiletries, hairdryer, hypoallergenic pillows, garment steamer, safe, free Wi-Fi

Food & Drink

There was a great atmosphere in all three venues, friendly staff and great food and drink. The steamed black bass with smoked poblano, scallion and black lime comes in a sauce that's like a delicious Scandi fish soup. The OnlyFans Martini cocktail at Starchild is delicious.

Starchild: rooftop bar and lounge, light bites and cocktails. Open Tue-Sun, from 5pm.
Rosevale Kitchen + Cocktail Room: two-storey venue, upscale American cuisine, small plates and cocktails. Open daily, from 5pm (Kitchen closed on Mon).
