The scenic beauty of the Yorkshire Dales provides the perfect backdrop for this relaxing crafty holiday, as you spend two full days in workshops learning to draw portraits.
During the sessions, you'll be accompanied by a professional artist who will teach you all about observation, tone, structure, and colour. There will be time to experiment with different techniques and processes as you learn to draw a portrait from scratch. There will be plenty of breaks throughout the day and should the weather be fine, spend time outdoors in the grounds of the house.
Your base for this short break will be Newfield Hall in Malham, an imposing mansion house which dates back to the 1850s - and this is where your workshops also take place, with a dedicated room which acts as your studio.
All meals will be included during your stay - from a hearty breakfast, to a packed lunch during the day and three-course evening meal - so you can fully focus on your art classes. Upon your arrival, a tasty cream tea will be served, giving you time to relax in your surrounds and make the most of the house's facilities, including its well-kept grounds, cosy lounges and bar area.
Should you wish to explore the local area during your stay, the Discovery Point offers a wide range of local area maps, route guides, and easy-to-follow information for self-guided walks - and the friendly staff will be more than happy to help.

Built in 1855 on land once belonging to the Lambert estate. Nowadays, there’s 46 well-appointed guest rooms spread across the main building and the tastefully converted coach house.
